Anxiety

Updated, June 2018.

I am freaking out. I have a geometry quiz tomorrow and I was up too late working on a computer program, so I really didn’t study and as I was leaving the house my mom reminded me how important all my grades are so now I feel more pressure. I just know I will fail and life as I know it will be over!

Calm down, Steve. It’s just a quiz. And in geometry – you’ll be fine.

No, I won’t, Taylor. I know geometry well enough to know I don’t know the material. And a quiz is serious. It gets weighted into my grade, which counts toward my whole average, which might come down, which might hurt my chances of getting into a good college or finding a great job, which…

Stop! You’re freaking ME out! I’ve never looked at school that way and seeing you like this, I’m glad I haven’t. Seriously, Steve. Get a grip.

Steve normally has a grip, but today he seems anxious about his upcoming quiz because he doesn’t feel prepared and his mother’s comment escalated his worries. Sometimes, even the slightest comment can push us over the edge because we can handle only so much at once. Managing workloads and life commitments can feel overwhelming at times, to anyone!

Of course, we all feel anxious from time to time. So how do you know when it might be a problem? How do you know when you might need a little help managing your anxious feelings? Sometimes even I can feel anxious when it comes to upcoming quizzes, but I rarely think about how a small quiz and how it could affect my future like Steve, but how my grade just might go down to failing which get me worried

I feel anxious before I have to compete at a dance competition, especially in group dances because it is up to the team to come together and perform well in order to get a high scoring. I feel anxious at competitions, and it is not very severe because I can deal with it. But I have also bee in Steve’s shoes with being anxious about taking a quiz or test, an having pressure from my parents, as well.

I fell anxious quite often, especially when there are multiple due dates and important events coming up, and even when I’m finished with everything, the feeling will linger, feeling like a still have things to do. But my emotions are not severe, and they will end eventually. It’s really nothing compared to what other people have to endure.

I feel anxious every once and a while and it is not very severe. It doesn’t get in the way of my everyday life but it is an annoying feeling. It is about a 4 on a scale of one to ten.

I feel anxious possibly once a month, and it’s not that severe.

I do not often feel anxious maybe every now and then yet one day i remember having an anxiety attack and this was the only time ive ever felt worried. I had constant anxiety and it lasted for about 5 minutes. I felt like something was wrong or I needed to do something but I couldnt figure out what I had to do. After a few minutes it went away but its only happened once in my life maybe about 6 months ago. I do not feel anxious often.
