Whoa, Harrison, what happened to you?

Oh nothing. I just sprained my ankle during football practice today.  No big deal.

No big deal? Your ankle looks like you injected grape jelly into it.

 I’ve had ankle sprains before and this one’s actually not that bad, I should be back out on the field in a week or so. In the meantime, I can always practice my throwing.

Whoa – Harrison, did you just say that you’d be throwing the ball around? And that you plan on being back in a week? And that you’ve had this injury before?

 Um, yeah…

Sounds like it’s time for a little information on sports injuries: specifically, which are the most common injuries and how to prevent them. Because, well, guess what? One of those top five injuries, according to the experts is…

Let me guess – an ankle sprain?

You got it. So we’re going to start with sprains and then move the other four top injuries:

  1. Knee injuries
  2. Dangerous sports and concussions
  3. Rotator cuff tendonitis
  4. Back pain

In each one, we’ll cover the basics on what the injury is, how to prevent it and what to do if you have it… which is usually to rest and take care of the injury. So…
