Anxiety

Updated, June 2018.

I am freaking out. I have a geometry quiz tomorrow and I was up too late working on a computer program, so I really didn’t study and as I was leaving the house my mom reminded me how important all my grades are so now I feel more pressure. I just know I will fail and life as I know it will be over!

Calm down, Steve. It’s just a quiz. And in geometry – you’ll be fine.

No, I won’t, Taylor. I know geometry well enough to know I don’t know the material. And a quiz is serious. It gets weighted into my grade, which counts toward my whole average, which might come down, which might hurt my chances of getting into a good college or finding a great job, which…

Stop! You’re freaking ME out! I’ve never looked at school that way and seeing you like this, I’m glad I haven’t. Seriously, Steve. Get a grip.

Steve normally has a grip, but today he seems anxious about his upcoming quiz because he doesn’t feel prepared and his mother’s comment escalated his worries. Sometimes, even the slightest comment can push us over the edge because we can handle only so much at once. Managing workloads and life commitments can feel overwhelming at times, to anyone!

Of course, we all feel anxious from time to time. So how do you know when it might be a problem? How do you know when you might need a little help managing your anxious feelings? I feel anxious most of the time during a day because i get anxiety about everything and i overthink everything so that makes me feel anxious and it scares my self on whats gonna happen next. I think that my anxiety is not so severe but i do get it a couple times a day .

I feel anxious a few times a week and a majority of it comes from school. I do not feel as it is too severe and I feel that the anxiety I get a majority of kids get when they have quiz, test or a bunch of work coming up.

I am anxious very often because of high school. High school is the reason for most of my problems. There is homework, relationships, and etc. I personally think its not that severe because I usually have a way to fix my problem.
